in what consist this? |
This expedition consists of an experience about the history of Playa Grande and the growth of the community, through a walk that shows the efforts that are being made to coexist with a national park.
We will start at the entrance of the national park where we will tell the story and the reasons for its creation. Then we will take a tour to learn about the beginnings of the town and walk through the streets crossing landscapes that shape this growing community. We will visit the Collection Center and then enter a private reserve that seeks to be a model of connectivity and conservation. Finally, we will close with a time for food and a refreshing drink in a typical food restaurant. |
Why is this important?
|
Playa Grande is a rapidly growing town that seeks to be a model community for coexisting with vulnerable ecosystems that are necessary for the reproduction of endangered species, for the transit of migratory species and the maintenance of marine-coastal fauna and flora.
From sea turtles, iguanas, crabs and even birds, this community is a place of passage or reproduction, so we must learn mechanisms to avoid their decline and maintain or improve environmental conditions as human development advances. |
WE CONTRIBUTE TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTThis project seeks increase the economic benefits to small countries from the sustainable use of marine resources, including through sustainable management of tourism; as well as improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
